Here is an old photograph of the Bampton Morris Dancers given to the
Vancouver Morris Men by the (then) landlord of the Eagle pub, Dave Phibbs, during their 1990 England tour when they visited
Bampton. Bampton is one of the few villages were the Morris has been danced virtually uninterrupted for hundreds of years.
The men in this photograph are, from left to right: Bob Allison, Cyril Smith, Jim Buckingham, Francis Shergold, Peter Allum, Frank Parslow, Roy Shergold, Oliver Walsh, Terry Rouse, Bill Daniels, Sonny Townsend.
Many thanks to Paul McGraph, Francis Shergold's nephew, for identifying the men, and to Alan Clarke, landlord of the Horseshoes pub in Bampton, for communicating this information to us.
